Throughout our 50th anniversary year, the Elisabeth Haub School of Law will host a special series of events that bring our community together to celebrate, reconnect, and reflect on the people and moments that have shaped our history. We invite you to join us throughout the year as we honor our past and celebrate the future of Haub Law.

50th Birthday Party and Dean’s BBQ

September 3 | 12:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m.
and 5:00 p.m.–6:30 p.m.

Celebrate our return to campus and commence the law school’s 50th anniversary at the annual Dean’s Welcome Back BBQ & 50th Birthday Celebration. Join us for food, fun, and community as we come together to start the year. Open to all students, staff, and faculty.

September 14 | 5:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m.

This special tribute honors the extraordinary life, career, and enduring legacy of Dean Emeritus Richard L. Ottinger: environmental pioneer, dedicated public servant, leading scholar, and beloved teacher whose influence shaped the Law School and helped define modern environmental law. A reception will follow.

September 24 | 5:00 p.m.–6:00 p.m.

Honor the legacy of Judge Morris E. Lasker, a pioneering advocate for the constitutional rights and dignity of incarcerated individuals. This inaugural lecture will explore pressing issues in correctional justice and the treatment of incarcerated persons in the United States and around the world. A reception will follow, featuring an exhibition and book launch for Breaking Point: When the Criminal Justice System Fails by acclaimed photographer Robin Dahlberg.

October 22 | 6:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m.

Join Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ Women's Justice Center to celebrate 35 years of life-changing legal service for survivors of abuse. This milestone anniversary benefit will honor Dean Angie D'Agostino, Esq. and the PWJC Pro Bono Volunteer Program for their legacy of impact, while raising vital funds to power the next 35 years of justice.

October 23 | 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Join members of the legal community for an engaging day exploring the rapidly evolving role of artificial intelligence in the legal profession. Through expert panels, keynote presentations, and hands-on workshops, attendees will gain practical insights into implementing and refining AI strategies while addressing the legal, ethical, and technological challenges shaping the future of law.

October 24 | 12:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m.

Alumni and their families are invited to enjoy a fun-filled day on campus featuring family-friendly activities, crafts, entertainment, food trucks, and more. Hosted by the Student Bar Association (SBA) and the Older Wiser Law Students Organization (OLWS), this event offers a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with the Haub Law at Âé¶¹Ö±²¥ community. Campus tours available.

October 24 | 6:00 p.m.–9:00 p.m.

Join Haub Law faculty and alumni for a special 50th Anniversary Reunion Dinner at the acclaimed Kanopi restaurant. Enjoy an evening of panoramic views, meaningful connections, and shared memories as we celebrate five decades of excellence and community.

October 25 | 11:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

Wrap up Alumni Weekend by joining your fellow alumni in the Tudor Room for brunch before parting ways. Swap stories about the weekend and share memories of your Haub Law experience.

October 28 | 4:30 p.m.–6:00 p.m.

Haub Law's Environmental program and the Society for Earth Law invite you to a panel discussion that will examine emerging legal developments related to Earth law, including ecocide, the Rights of Nature, constitutional environmental rights, and Indigenous laws.
