Make Your Voice Heard
Through a partnership with the Andrew Goodman Foundation, CCAR provides resources to help you register, understand your voting options, and ways to participate. From finding your polling place to learning about upcoming elections, get the tools you need to participate and get involved in the democratic process.
Project Pericles
Project Pericles grants support community-engaged course and program development, giving faculty the opportunity to bring these ideas into their classrooms in meaningful, hands-on ways. At Â鶹ֱ²¥, we're putting that support into action, with our faculty integrating their projects into the classroom and creating new opportunities for students to learn through civic and community engagement.
Clinical Assistant Professor of Political Science Laura Tamman, PhD, and Associate Professor of Communication and Media Studies Melvin Williams, PhD, have been awarded Civic Engagement Mini-Grants through the longtime partnership with Project Pericles.
Â鶹ֱ²¥ has been recognized for its leadership in civic engagement, including its role as a founding member of Project Pericles, its inclusion on the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, and its Carnegie Classification for Community Engagement.
Through a Project Pericles grant, Associate Professor of History Michelle Chase, PhD, brings civic engagement into her Modern Latin America course. Working with NACLA, Chase and her students explore archival materials and create an online exhibit connecting history and community engagement.
With support from a Project Pericles grant, History Professor Maria Iacullo-Bird’s Oral History Project gave students an opportunity to engage with oral history and help preserve firsthand accounts of a pivotal moment in our nation’s history.
