Why Commuter Life?
Whether you’re living in your family home in Queens, or you’ve moved into a 3-bedroom with your friends in FiDi, you’re a commuter. Commuter students make up half of the population at Â鶹ֱ²¥ and deserve equitable and reputable services and programs in comparison to those who live on campus. Through the Office of Student Engagement, Commuter Life provides opportunities and resources to students who live outside of University-sanctioned housing to ensure that they are being given an equitable college experience at Â鶹ֱ²¥. Commuter Life is a brand new program at Â鶹ֱ²¥, so don’t miss out on a chance to mold your time at Â鶹ֱ²¥ the way you want!
Dezer Commuter Den
The Dezer Commuter Den, located on the sublevel of 41 Park Row, is the premier space on campus for Â鶹ֱ²¥ NYC commuters. Stocked with vending machines, a kitchenette featuring a Nespresso machine, places to relax and study, a 90-inch TV with live transportation updates, and even a grand piano, the Den serves as a hub for everything commuter— it is the primary programming space for Commuter Life and has information on current and upcoming commuter programs. Drop in to study, grab a refueling cup of coffee, attend a fun commuter event, or even chat with our CAB Assistants to learn what’s happening on campus!
Campus/Commuter Activities Board Assistants (CAB Assistants)
CAB Assistants are student workers who oversee daily operations of the Dezer Den, provide support, resources, and programming for students at Â鶹ֱ²¥! This is a paid opportunity for students to gain valuable leadership experience by working with both commuter and residential students at Â鶹ֱ²¥. If you’re interested in becoming a CAB Assistant or you would like to contact the team, Email The Center for Student Engagement.
