Building System Transitions
The heating systems have been turned on in most of our buildings. We are monitoring the indoor temperatures remotely and will make adjustments where possible. In many buildings, the heating and air conditioning systems are set up so that the building can provide either heating or cooling based on the season. Switching back and forth from cooling to heating on a daily basis is not feasible. We are currently in heating mode to ensure that the buildings will be warm at the coldest times.

Greenbuild, the US Green Building Council’s (USGBC) annual conference, is taking place at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center this week. As part of the event, a dedicated student session will feature mentoring and a focus on careers in the green economy. We are proudly sponsoring 10 Â鶹ֱ²¥ students to attend this session on Friday.

Energy and Resiliency
Climate Week NYC kicks off this week and is the premier global climate event of the year. Coordinated in conjunction with the UN General Assembly, it brings together international leaders from business, government, finance, and civil society to drive transition from ambition to large-scale implementation. This year’s core theme—Energy, Impact and Action—focuses heavily on redesigning energy systems, managing rising electricity demands, accelerating corporate decarbonization, and overcoming supply chain and regulatory hurdles. As NYC hosts over 1,000 official events, we will participate in events with our partners like the NYC Climate Exchange, NYCEDC, Voltus, and peer universities.
