S. Brian Jones, �鶹ֱ��’s assistant dean for diversity and equity in theater and media arts, wants young artists to stop waiting for someone else’s approval. He’s leading the charge in giving �鶹ֱ�� students the tools they need to write their own success stories.

Premiering nationwide this Friday, The Killing of Kenneth Chamberlain, is a socially conscious drama thriller based on the true story of a case that Elisabeth Haub School of Law Professors Randolph McLaughlin and Debra Cohen have worked on for ten years.

Nostalgia for American Girl Dolls is no joke. But what happens when the first-ever boy doll is introduced to one of the most iconic girl power brands? Emilie Zaslow, PhD, professor and department chair of communication studies at �鶹ֱ��, teamed up with Jaclyn Griffith ’17 to find out.

The Department of Criminal Justice and Security and Westchester Department of Correction (WCDOC) joined together to complete a virtual course offering on Crime and Public Policy within the Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program, in which �鶹ֱ�� students learned in conjunction with incarcerated students.

Singer. Model. Medical assistant. There’s no end to what Brian Powell ’21 can accomplish as a health science major on the pre-physician assistant track who creates art in his spare time. To top it off, he also wrote a research paper on racial patient bias in healthcare.

Announcing the establishment of the Barry M. and Jackie Gosin Center for Equity and Inclusion. This new Center, established via a donation from the Gosins, supports ongoing efforts at �鶹ֱ�� in anti-racism and equity; expands work to elevate job placement and entrepreneurship among Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) students; and enhances academic scholarship in these areas.

In March, �鶹ֱ�� named S. Brian Jones, an award-winning and well-respected artist, writer, and arts educator, as its new assistant dean for diversity and equity in the arts.

What is a hackathon? It’s a timed, team-based problem-solving day of strategy and execution where tech is used to save the day. Teams, of all different skills and abilities, come together to design software or mobile apps to solve real world issues and problems.

The School of Education has combined forces with �鶹ֱ��'s OASIS program to get students on the autism spectrum career-ready by using virtual reality avatars to simulate a job interview scenario.
