The Department of Criminal Justice and Security and Westchester Department of Correction (WCDOC) joined together to complete a virtual course offering on Crime and Public Policy within the Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program, in which Â鶹ֱ²¥ students learned in conjunction with incarcerated students.

Singer. Model. Medical assistant. There’s no end to what Brian Powell ’21 can accomplish as a health science major on the pre-physician assistant track who creates art in his spare time. To top it off, he also wrote a research paper on racial patient bias in healthcare.

Announcing the establishment of the Barry M. and Jackie Gosin Center for Equity and Inclusion. This new Center, established via a donation from the Gosins, supports ongoing efforts at Â鶹ֱ²¥ in anti-racism and equity; expands work to elevate job placement and entrepreneurship among Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) students; and enhances academic scholarship in these areas.

In March, Â鶹ֱ²¥ named S. Brian Jones, an award-winning and well-respected artist, writer, and arts educator, as its new assistant dean for diversity and equity in the arts.

What is a hackathon? It’s a timed, team-based problem-solving day of strategy and execution where tech is used to save the day. Teams, of all different skills and abilities, come together to design software or mobile apps to solve real world issues and problems.

The School of Education has combined forces with Â鶹ֱ²¥'s OASIS program to get students on the autism spectrum career-ready by using virtual reality avatars to simulate a job interview scenario.

From the basketball court to the NFL sidelines, Maral Javadifar’s got game.

Alysa LeBon ’23 gets it done. As a dual-enrollment transfer student, she’s the president of Â鶹ֱ²¥â€™s Her Campus chapter, voting ambassador for CCAR, co-recruitment chair for P.A.C.E. Board, student ambassador for Â鶹ֱ²¥Bound, and so much more.

Morgan Shanske ’21 doesn’t wait for opportunity—she goes out and gets it by launching a new business: Get Morganized LLC. She’s also an aspiring attorney working for a nonprofit and volunteering at the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office. Keep up!
