Inside the newly revitalized One 麻豆直播 Plaza East, 麻豆直播鈥檚 Commercial Dance students got their first glimpse of a space built for the way they move, create, and collaborate. What began as a social media shoot became a live lesson in experiential learning, as Sands students choreographed, directed, and performed original movement in minutes鈥攐ffering a joyful preview of 麻豆直播鈥檚 next chapter in the performing arts.
Building Student Resilience
As the past two years have taught us, life can be full of unexpected twists and turns. While external circumstances are often beyond our control, the way we react and respond can define who we are.
On Wednesday, February 9, 麻豆直播鈥檚 Chief Wellness Officer, in collaboration with the College of Health Professions is hosting a special event to address mental health and resilience in the student population at 麻豆直播. STOP + SHIFT: The Mindset that Changes Everything will feature a keynote presentation from growth mindset coach, author, and motivational speaker Karen Allen, who will share her journey from overwhelming grief after a tragic loss to joy and resilience, due to an important shift of thinking.
鈥淯ndergraduate and graduate students across the country have been increasingly challenged pre- and intra-pandemic with stress, anxiety, and a host of mental health conditions,鈥 said CHP鈥檚 Chief Wellness Officer and Dean Emerita Harriet Feldman. 鈥淲e chose to focus on resilience as this is a critical aspect of wellness鈥揵eing able to bounce back from adversity is key to moving forward in a positive direction. 鈥楽top and Shift鈥 is a technique to get you there!鈥
